MATHS - Measuring Length and Area

Our first maths topic for the year was measurement. We were learning how to measure length using non-standard units. We learnt that when you are measuring that you must use the same size blocks otherwise the measurement will not be correct. We measured our toys.

We drew around our toy and then measured its height.

           

 Then we learnt about measuring area. We had to glue squares of paper on to a big sheet of paper to see how many squares would cover it.

We also drew around our foot and hand, then compared the area of them by using subtraction.
